Accurate AFR data is fundamental for engine development, calibration, and diagnostics. However, measurement systems can be affected by sensor drift, contamination, exhaust conditions, or installation-related errors. The AFR Carburetor Gas Sample provides a controlled and repeatable reference point to verify correct system operation.
Purpose of the AFR Carburetor Gas Sample:

Detection of sensor drift, calibration errors, or system inaccuracies
When the AFR measurement system is exposed to the AFR Carburetor Gas Sample, the displayed value must be 14.7 AFR (λ = 1.00). Any deviation from this value indicates a measurement error, sensor aging, contamination, or incorrect system setup.
